The five tools announced for your arrival
The farming development log names a shovel, pickaxe, axe, watering can and crowbar as part of the toolkit you carry after arriving in Ashenridge. Their roles cross farming, gathering and exploration. Tools are useful to understand before choosing seeds or following the investigation: having a tool does not mean every nearby object accepts that tool.

Use the tool that matches the job
The developers describe a planting sequence: use the shovel to dig, select seeds from the quick inventory, plant, then equip the watering can. The visible farming grid shows nearby interactions and uses red or white to indicate whether an action is allowed. The development log identifies the equipped tool, available energy and seed-to-plot compatibility as checks involved in that feedback. It does not give a complete final control binding chart.

Why picking something up can come first
Objects can occupy overlapping interaction space. The farming log explains that movable objects are generally handled before immovable ones: a loose item can be picked up before digging the plot below it, even while the shovel is equipped. This helps explain the interaction design without describing every unexpected action as a bug. Check the immediate object and plot conditions before assuming the tool has a different function.
The crowbar has its own place in the toolkit
The September development retrospective describes a change from an early pickpocketing idea to situational breaking and entering. The crowbar belongs to that explanation. The article is evidence for a tool-assisted exploration mechanic; it is not a damage table or confirmation that every farm tool doubles as a weapon. For the development history and announced scope, read breaking and entering.
What an upgrade guide can currently say
Steam announces tool and farm-building upgrades, and the farming log says tools can become better. Neither source supplies a complete tier list, upgrade cost table or crafting recipe for each tool. Keep these as announced progression features. Exact materials, prices, unlock requirements and performance comparisons belong in future records once those values can be verified.
Are these weapons?
The sources used here establish tools and their uses. They do not establish a complete weapon or combat progression system. Treat a request for the best weapon separately from choosing the right farm tool: the latter has documented answers now, while the former still needs evidence. Continue with crafting for workstations and the farm overview for the daily loop.
